Our Story
Built at the Intersection of Vision Science and Athletic Recovery
ReadySight was founded on a simple but powerful idea: the time an athlete spends healing is also an opportunity to sharpen the mental and visual skills that separate good from great.
Our Mission
Most athletes treat injury as a pause — a frustrating gap between who they were and who they'll be again. We see it differently. The weeks spent off the field are weeks the brain can still train.
ReadySight exists to make sure no recovery period is wasted. We combine evidence-based visual performance training with physical rehabilitation so athletes return not just healthy, but sharper than before.
Recovery is training
Every day off the field is a day the brain can still develop. We refuse to let recovery be passive.
Data drives decisions
We measure what matters. Every athlete gets a baseline, tracks progress, and returns with proof of improvement.
Athletes deserve more
The tools used by professional organizations should be accessible to every serious athlete, regardless of level.

Founder, ReadySight
Charles Bittel III, O.D., is a Family Practice Optometrist in Orange County, CA. He grew up playing baseball and, ever since his own children participated in youth sports, recognized the potential for the intersection of his professional career and his passion for athletics.
Dr. Bittel has spent over a decade studying Sports Vision Science and developing protocols for athletes looking to gain a competitive edge via Visual Performance training. He spent a summer training healthy athletes and only after the son of a friend needed knee surgery in high school did he think of the concept of utilizing the downtime from physical activities to train the brain.
The Science
Skills We Measure and Train
Elite athletic performance isn't just physical. ReadySight targets the specific visual processing skills that research links directly to on-field performance.
Contrast Sensitivity
The ability to distinguish an object from its background under varying lighting conditions — critical for tracking a ball against a bright sky or a crowded field.
Depth Perception
Accurate spatial judgment that underpins catching, striking, and collision avoidance. Measurable, trainable, and directly linked to on-field performance.
Near-Far Quickness
The speed at which the eyes shift focus between close and distant objects — essential for reading a play and reacting to fast-moving targets simultaneously.
Perception Span
How much visual information an athlete can absorb in a single glance. A wider perception span means faster situational awareness and better decision-making under pressure.
Multiple Object Tracking
The ability to simultaneously monitor several moving targets — a foundational skill in team sports where players must track the ball, opponents, and teammates at once.
Reaction Time
The speed at which the brain processes a visual stimulus and initiates a motor response. Trainable with targeted repetition and progressive loading.
Target Capture
The efficiency with which the eyes lock onto a relevant target and ignore distractors — sharpening focus and reducing hesitation in high-speed environments.
ReadySight uses the Senaptec Sensory Station — the same technology used by professional sports organizations — to baseline each athlete's visual processing profile and track improvement over time.
